Job 21; Mark 5 & 6

Had breakfast w/ a gal this morning who really got in there and explored me about the South Africa trip....I enjoyed it and was suprised by the passion still in me...surprised and just jacked up by it again...
To feel something so passionately and be unable or unwilling to DO anything about it. We came away utterly and completely convinced that our money needs to go over there...convinced there needs to be a support team created around Rufus and Almarie and the Bible College...convinced and convicted and completely overwhelmed in HOW....I get ideas but never know how to 'follow through'....the incapable word paralyzes me....I get ideas, I want to do things......someone else, usually my husband needs to carry them out and this time....he can't...we can't....what now....

Mark 6: 50 "Courage! It's me. Don't be afraid."

And I am simply and completly afraid to try...

Walking on the Sea
45-46 As soon as the meal was finished, Jesus insisted that the disciples get in the boat and go on ahead across to Bethsaida while he dismissed the congregation. After sending them off, he climbed a mountain to pray.
47-49 Late at night, the boat was far out at sea; Jesus was still by himself on land. He could see his men struggling with the oars, the wind having come up against them. At about four o'clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them, walking on the sea. He intended to go right by them. But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and screamed, scared out of their wits.
50-52 Jesus was quick to comfort them: "Courage! It's me. Don't be afraid." As soon as he climbed into the boat, the wind died down. They were stunned, shaking their heads, wondering what was going on. They didn't understand what he had done at the supper. None of this had yet penetrated their hearts.
53-56 They beached the boat at Gennesaret and tied up at the landing. As soon as they got out of the boat, word got around fast. People ran this way and that, bringing their sick on stretchers to where they heard he was. Wherever he went, village or town or country crossroads, they brought their sick to the marketplace and begged him to let them touch the edge of his coat—that's all. And whoever touched him became well.

Becky...he called Peter out of the boat after Peter asked....it was crazy...it was scary...it looked foolish and ridiculous. imagine what the others in the boat were thinking. "Peter, you idiot! You aren't Jesus...you cant do that..with these waves, you will sink and we'll never see you again."

yet, Jesus calls.
Peter throws a leg over the side and not totally sure if it will work, only knows that the Master said with His eyes, "come on...just do it, trust Me."

Do not be afraid.

those words appear often as commands from the Lord.

so...if He had to remind us like 35 times to NOT be afraid, it must mean that there will be LOTSA times that we will encounter things on our journey what will make us feel like we should be afraid, very afraid......and yet...He tells us to Trust and Not Fear...Walk on the Water..Do the things that have up til now, never been done before...without fear, only Trust and Love.

If He is calling...If He is leading...If He is breaking your heart...the very worst thing you can do is hide or delay.
