Genesis 29&30; Luke 12

Here's where the fast came from..... This morning realizing the fruits and vegetables are NOT to fill me up but for nutrition...came as a bit of a shock to me this morning....I don't know anything about sacrifice or fasting, hoping in this next 3 weeks to learn more about it and Him.....

Alot of deciet and manipulating in the OT this morning. Alot I don't quite understand and yet I hear that God remembers, He doesn't forget about those of us who call on His Son for forgiveness, who enter into relationship with Him.
Relationship...not sure I fully get the complete understanding of BEING in a relationship with the God of the universe and yet sitting here it seems like this is part of it. Spending the time with You.....listening and yearning to know You more. Relationships are built on TIME spent together.....???

Luke 12: 32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
35"Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

You are my MASTER tho, I can't mistake that relationship, don't belittle it into friendship.....
I wonder what it looks like to be friends with Your master or if I'm wayyyyy off here????
I go back to the Disney thing I saw years ago about 'sheepdogs'......they, the sheepdog being totally dedicated to their Master, the shepherd of the flocks. Them, knowing their job completely, obedience to the Shepherd and that obedience appeared to come with much affection for him.....and when a sheep was lost the shepherd sent the sheepdog to find and bring them back to his flock and he did. That sheepdog took care of the lost sheep, did whatever he had to do to bring he or she home and when he did, looked for nothing else from his MASTER than a pat on the head...he or she KNEW he had done what he was supposed to do, what he was made to do and doing it for the shepherd was just innate.
I was told I am not nor was supposed to BE a sheepdog that I was a sheep....I get that but still drawn to that illustration of a relationship w/ our Master......
