Deuteronomy 22 -24; Galatians 4

Breakfast w/my son this morning…my son who will be 25 on Sunday. My son who is my youngest turning 25…where has the time gone.

25 things about my son:

1. he is and always has been an incredible blessing to his daddy and I. after having been blessed w/ 2 girls being blessed w/a son was a real joy that march day 25 years ago. we always said we didn’t care but I think deep down we really wanted a son J

2. he has a heart for God and is seeking Him, making this heart so very glad.

3. let’s just get the physical out of the way. He looks just like his father, which is to say he is really, I MEAN REALLY handsome. J

4. he was a great son and I think his sisters would attest to being a pretty tolerable brother too.

5. he has an adorable wife and they are both seeking to have a Christ centered marriage. Not having grown up in one I am prayerful and tickled to watch them seek to figure this out.

6. he is a delight to visit w/one on one….I’m talking a real blessing.

7. he has a passion for football and coaching young people that is contagious.

8. he’s a teacher and brings his passion for coaching into the classroom and I think that is a good thing. I like the idea of kids seeing passionate adults.

9. he’s the baby of the family so there may be issues there when it comes to parenting his own, but the whole seeking God thing has that covered. J

10. he is excitable and passionate about life and relationships.

11. when he’s sick…again just like his Daddy, when he’s sick…well let’s just say ‘you know it’. J

12. he really wants a dog. We ,as his parents, as a family, were not good pet owners and I am praying he is a better one that what he grew up with, for his and his pet’s sake.

13. he is a good friend. I have watched he and Trevor fight and yet they always remain friends. I have learned from watching them.

14. he came to Christ when a young man in our church who really loved Jesus, made Jared feel valued and that love. I am watching him replicate that with other young people. Watching him cast vision to them of what a relationship w/Christ could look like.

15. he is an encourager and needs encouragement.

16. he is easily satisfied and distracted and just figuring that out.

17. his heart is easily broken but you will rarely see that.

18. he loves to do things outside and to be physical whether it’s riding bikes, canoeing a river or climbing mountains…. not sure he’s ever had the opportunity to climb a 14r…I hope he does some day.

19. he does a mean impression of a Velociraptor .

20. he grew up w/o a gaming system, his wife just bought him his first one at 25!! She’s a keeper definitely!

21. he is a voracious reader and movie goer who loves to share his love and passion of a good book or movie.

22. I believe he will be a perpetual student and learner which will make him someone w/ a heart for other seekers and learners at least that is a dream I have for him

23. he was the sweetest little boy and again I believe that sweetness is still in there and whomever is lucky enough to experience it would agree.

24. he is very intelligent and scientific as well as filled w/faith and love. I love that and can’t wait to see how God uses him in the future .

25. he is creative as well and open to finding new ways to express his beliefs in that creativity. He allows others to teach him how to express himself.

Feeling pretty blessed to have had him in my life as a son...feeling really blessed to watch him become the MAN God intended....Happy Birthday Jared!
