Leviticus 10 -12; Acts 16

Aarons sons died burning a 'strange fire'....Aaron built a calf and didn't own up to his part in it, claimed 'it just came out'...after his sons died Aaron was silent.....

What we show our kids about faith can be very hard to look at. To realize that we can't give away what we don't have and realize this after what we have given them is ......stubborn disbelief or whatever we've given them ......
can be devastating......

And then we remember our own forgiveness....and we strive (?) struggle...train to live in that. Remembering there is no irredeemable harm.... we live in the freedom that THAT forgiveness offers....

Acts 16: 29-31 The jailer got a torch and ran inside. Badly shaken, he collapsed in front of Paul and Silas. He led them out of the jail and asked, "Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?" They said, "Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you'll live as you were meant to live—and everyone in your house included!"

And then this this morning offers me great comfort.....

In retrospect I wish that I was more transparent and vulnerable with my kids. I surprise them these days when I drop my guard about my failings and the mistakes of the church and their Christian school.

Raising kids is not rocket science.. it is harder :)

  • Learn to say I'm sorry w/o a 'but'
  • Learn to, strive to, be 'other' centered
  • Learn what it is to BE a friend
  • Lose 20 more pounds and take another trip to LA
  • Love, love, love on my Grandkids
  • Make a new friend
  • Read MORE books, make the time to read
  • Take alot of photos and learn how to take better ones and share better the ones I take.
